Refined Vocals Meet Masterful Composition as Chris Emray Gets You ‘High’
Viennese-Born Chris Emray, a passionate singer-songwriter and accomplished lyricist, is taking the European music scene by storm with his fresh take on the classic pop-rock genre
(March 1st, 2018) Vienna, Austria — A sensational voice, profound lyrics and a guitar: Chris Emray shows us that that’s all you need to create catchy tunes that get people dancing and singing along.
Budding singer-songwriter, Chris Emray describes himself as authentic and cool, with a touch of mainstream old school. When he takes the stage, each of his shows is authentic and real, with Emray aiming to connect with each member of his audience, and make each performance an unforgettable coming together of music and emotion. By feeding off the crowd, and making sure to keep each show unique, Emray’s approach to live music is refreshing, and hails from an older time, before staged and overacted concepts flooded the mainstream music scene.
Emray breathes new life into today’s often overlooked pop-rock genre. Emray broke into the music scene in 2014, with his mesmerizing performance as the opening act for blues-rock and guitarist legend Eric Clapton. Emray, who shone in front of a crowd of nearly 12,000 people, has never looked back. Following this success, long-time music expert and recording specialist, Christian Kolonovits named Emray one of the emergent songwriter’s of the year, and noted that he was “someone to watch” in the Austrian music scene.
Since then, Chris Emray, joined by his backing band, The Antics have had the opportunitiy to play Waves Vienna at Flex in October 2014, and joined the 2015 Eurovision Song contest winner, Måns Zelmerlöw, on stage during his performance in September 2015. In the spring of 2016, Chris joined Lee MacDougall on his tour and, together with his band, they toured as support for Thorsteinn Einarsson across Austria.
Recently, Chris Emray & The Antics had their biggest accomplishment yet, jumping at the chance to play on the coveted main stage at Europe’s biggest open air festival: Donauinselfest, in June of 2016. As Chris Emray’s recent single, ‘High’, states: higher than the sky; we’ll take a ride — that certainly seems to be the future in store for Emray and his band.
